What are risk factors for adverse events in colorectal surgery?

Lead by researcher at Amsterdam UMC, we participated in a cohort study that found that machine learning applied to a clinical audit containing 62,501 records and 103 preoperative variables of surgically treated patients with colorectal cancer outperformed conventional scores in predicting 30-day postoperative mortality but with similar performance as a preexisting case-mix model. New risk factors for several other adverse events may be identified., PW Consulting and SAS receive EU funding to reducepost-surgical infections in hospitals

With a solution for predicting infections after surgery,, PW Consulting and SAS have obtained a grant of 1.27 million euros from the REACT-EU recovery fund. The consortium will use the funding to scale and cost-effectively deploy PERISCOPE™, the artificial intelligence solution of, across multiple hospitals. PERISCOPE makes it possible to predict and reduce the number of post-surgical infections within hospitals.
